A baby’s strongest sense is smell and she can recognize her mothers by scent alone.

Allergies are common problems among children today, affecting kids in ways that can range from merely annoying and uncomfortable to potentially life-threatening. If you know or suspect your child has an allergy of any kind, schedule an appointment with us. At CarolinaEast Pediatrics we conveniently offer basic allergy testing in our office.

Our doctors understand that even minor allergies can have a large impact on the day-to-day life of a child. If your child experiences runny nose, itchy nose, stuffy nose, itchy and/or watery eyes, or frequent sneezing, he or she may have allergies. New patients with suspected allergies will receive a comprehensive evaluation. Based on your child’s history, he or she may be given a simple blood test to see if there is a response to certain allergens. If further allergy testing is needed, our physicians will refer your child to our ENT office, or to an allergy specialist.

Conditions that are evaluated and managed at CarolinaEast Pediatrics include asthma, headaches, chronic cough, immune deficiency, sinus problems, allergic reactions, skin rashes or reactions, and recurrent or chronic infections. All testing is done in a carefully controlled environment, where your child’s safety remains our first and foremost priority.
